I think it is still not too late to wish all of my friends a very happy new year though today is already day 10th of 2012 . 

I miss writing here and miss talking to all my friends, that’s you if you have forgotten that

I have been away from my desk for two months.  Some of you may know that I went to Mekah since October 2011.  Came back earlier December and only now manage to write.  My mistake…  Been in my comfort zone for too long :-( that I forgot that I am a writer and writing gives me energy to look forward to life.

I would like to share with you my experience and stories while I was in Mekah and Madinah but that would be in my next posts.  I promise .  There’s so much that I would like to share, especially my experience that can make us a better person and I hope that by sharing my experience with you, makes me a better person even more.

Today I am not going to talk about Mekah or Madinah.  I want to talk about well, what else… new resolution as now is just the beginning of 2012

Well, you might be saying that this is going to be something boring as everybody is talking about new resolution everytimes new year comes. Yes, I agreed to that and yes everybody is talking about new resolution nowadays.  Actually I did talked about new resolution last year

So without breaking the tradition, I am going to talk about new resolution again…

I believe that our resolution should be renewed; not every early of the year but early of each day.  I hope you don’t misunderstood my words, therefore I am going to say this again; “Resolution should be renewed everyday not every early of the year.”

Why? You might ask.

Well, the way I see it, we should review our resolution at the end of every day i.e. before we go to sleep so that we can see whether what we have done that day aligned with our resolution or not and whether our resolution is really what we want, the thing that is going to make us happy in the end.

By reviewing this everyday we will always know whether we are in the right direction or not and whether we are making the right resolution to move towards our goal. 

It is something like a pilot who is flying the airplane, always checking whether he is in the right direction towards his destination.  If he is diverted from his destination, he will correct his way and fly back to the right direction.  And if he arrive in a wrong destination, he can always turn back and fly towards the right destination.  Provided of course the plane has enough fuel to fly there

Well, you got the picture.

Same with us, if we always check our actions, we will always know whether what we do are align with our resolution and whether our resolution is making us move towards our goal, our destination.  And when suddenly we realize our resolution is a wrong one, we can make an immediate change to achieve our goal and have a happy life.

You see, things that makes us happy are the things that make us move forward.  If we are not happy with what we are doing, we will remain static, be in just the same place or even worst move backward.

I learned this the hard way.  I did something that I thought would bring me closer to my goal but truthfully it did not as I didn’t checked.   And I wasted the whole year doing just that.  In the end I realized that I was not moving forward at all instead moving much further away from my goal and suffered for the whole year not being happy. 

Luckily someone made me realized what I did.  Though it was painful to swallow but it was the truth.  Hey! I am a human being, I make mistakes too.  Like the saying “If you never make mistake, you will never grow.”

So my friends, I hope that I have share something valuable with you today and it will make you a better person today.  If you make the wrong resolution last year, well you still have time to change it.  It is never too late to make the change.  As long as you are breathing, it is not too late no matter how old your are.

If you make a mistake, be sad, cry if you want to but after that review it and make improvement.  Like a good friend of mine said don’t brood over it. 

Remember this; everything happens for a reason, whether the thing that happens is good or bad.  What happens next is much more important; it will depend on how we handle the situation.

Just to share with you, something bad happened to me today, I admit I brood about it at first but in the end I realize in a way it is a good thing.  As it gave me the will to write tonight and realize the right direction to move.  So it is not a bad thing after all

I am signing off with this prayer, “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Of course there’s about me page in this blog. But well… let just talk about me today.  Nothing boring I promise.  Just something so that you would get to know me better and may be we could end up becoming good friends

Well… My name is Khadijah Ibrahim.  You can call me Khadijah.  My family call me a shorter name but let’s just stick with Khadijah

I graduated from the University of Sheffield United Kingdom in Chemical Engineering and Fuel Technology.  Before that I got my Diploma in Chemical Engineering from University of Technology Malaysia.

When I came back to Malaysia I started working in a multinational company which was an English company, some of you may know Courtaulds Coatings.  Later the company was bought by a Dutch Company – Akzo Nobel and the company is known as International Paint until now.  If you do not know what International Paint is manufacturing, well they are manufacturing heavy duty paints i.e. anti-fouling for ships, paints for oil rigs, heavy industries etc.

So if you need some advice in paint application or substrate preparation, you know where to find me .  I still remember these things especially as my ex-subordinate still contact me on these related issues.

I started as a QA chemist then Development Chemist which was under Regional Office and then promoted to QA Manager.  During all those times I always wondered what was my purpose of being put in this world.

While working as a QA Manager I did administration of the QA department, make sure equipments were calibrated, the welfare of the QA personnel also working very closely with Production Department and involved a lot in giving trainings.  During these times I realised that I got this warm feeling sharing my knowledge with people.  I got really excited and enthusiastic when talking about self-development and improvement.  So I started to read a lot of self-development and self-improvement books.  With a lot of new knowledge gained I realised why I was put on this earth that is to share the knowledge I learned.

Around this time too I learned about how your handwriting could tell a lot about your personality.  As I always been interested in knowing about people’s personality and also mind too, this got me really interested to learn more about handwriting analysis.  It started out as additional knowledge so that I could know more about myself however I ended up becoming a certified handwriting analyst  After I had been certified, I got excited to share my new found knowledge about handwriting analysis that I wrote my first book “Tulisan Cerminan Personaliti Diri” that was published in the end of September 2007.  This book is about the basic of handwriting analysis, the successful traits that could be seen in the handwriting and negative traits that could be seen in the handwriting. 

Sorry to say if you do not understand Malay Language, this book is in Malay.  Honestly said I started out to write this book in English however no publishers wanted to publish it until I met with this publisher who agreed to publish it if I wrote it in Malay.  So I had to translate it to Malay as during that time I never thought about self-publishing…  Well, it had been a learning process for me However not to worry my English speaking friends, I am planning to write a the same type of book however with improved contents in the near future which will be in English. Yea!!!!

Around this time too I got interested to share my knowledge in handwriting analysis with the world.  I immediately bought a domain and hosting but didn’t know what to do next… So I bought books, eBooks and even attended a very expensive one day seminar about building your own website.  I had to borrow from my mom to attend that seminar   Unfortunately I was still in square one, still didn’t know the things that I wanted to know about building my own website.  In fact I was offered a lot more opportunities to spend money to buy more eBooks and attended more seminars … hahaha…

That was when I read about John Thornhill , I got interested and I subscribed to his newsletter.  It was very informative, a lot of knowledge and a lot of new experience.  Apart from this I also did a lot more studying and researches about building an online business.  However during this time I was very busy with my day work as a QA Manager and around this time too my boss resigned for a better job.  So I end-up doing his job too and had been appointed as Technical Manager.  As I was handling two positions at the same time plus part time trainer, being handwriting analyst, promoting my book and also undergoing Jack Canfield’s Success Principles Coaching program at that time, I did not have much time to actually developed my own website as I supposed to do.  So I thought of out-sourcing.

As I did not have much money I thought that a relative could help.  However it end-up with me paying more than I had budgeted and the website outcome that was not as what I expected.  I don’t want to say more than this but my advice to you is never ever out-source to a relative. You might end-up paying more and might also jeopardize your family ties – I talked a little bit more about this in my eBook “Secret of Making Money with Positive Relative Revealed“.   Not to worry I am not bad-mouthing anybody

At this point I became so frustrated that I almost gave-up on the online business.  This was when I found out that John Thornhill offered a coaching program.  After a lot of coaching and training programs on building an online business offered to me, I knew that I had to sign-up for this one and my instinct was right.  I know a lot more about online business now than when I attended that very expensive one day seminar.  This coaching program had taught me a lot…  I now make improvement to my website. Let me tell you a little secret about me (it is really my achillies heel) – promise not to tell anyone ok. I always get enthusiastic to share my knowledge with people. For example when people requested for a simple report from their handwriting analysis – different cost for different type of report,  I wrote a detailed report about them instead.  Good for them, not so good for my business  I just can’t help it.  I just like the warm feeling inside and feel really enthusiastic when I have the opportunity to help people.
