Some of them asked me why?, there were also those who said that I was daring enough to venture into an unknown horizon; a 180 degree different from my trained profession and there were also people who bluntly said I was not thinking straight, it was a waste of time.

There were times after that especially during difficult times that I too wondered whether what they said was true and whether I had made the right decision.

Until today, there are still people who are trying to talk me out of pursing my dream and even said that my dream is a worthless dream.  They said that my dream is not going to bring a lot of money or my dream is not going to make me a happy person or my dream is not going anywhere or what I am doing is not the best for me and they actually know what best for me :-(

Well, I called these people a dream killer.  They don’t actually know what they are talking about or they are a failure because they may once had a dream before and on their first or second attempts failed and after that they never tried again.  And the worst this is that they believe that if they failed in their first and second attempts, everybody else who has dreams will fail too.  What make things worst are that they suddenly thought that they are the expert on dreams and they know what best for everybody else.

My advice to you is that just ignore what they said and even better try to spend time or associate with them less.  Because if keeping spending your time with them, one day you may start to believe what they said, begin to think that your dream is a worthless dream and forget about it.

You see, the person who knows you best, the person who knows your capabilities and the person who knows what best for you beside Allah, is yourself.  Some people who are very close to you like your parents may understand your capabilities by the only person who knows you best is yourself

And if you believe that you can achieve your dream, you will be able to achieve it.  Of course it would be best to have the people around you especially your love ones to believe in your dream too.  It will help a lot and make things easier for you.

I am not saying that when you have a dream, you believe it and it would come easily to you.  I am saying that if you believe in yourself and your love ones; people around you believe it too, things would be easier.

Because when you have a dream, a goal; there is no straight road to achieve it.  There will always be roadblocks, challenges, detour, hurdles, many disappointments and failures before you can be successfully achieve your dream.  This is where the believes and supports of your love ones are very important.  These believes and supports can keep you moving and help you up when you fall.

However the believes and supports of your love ones would not be enough unless you believe in yourself and take actions to move towards your dream.

That’s why one of my favourite quotes is by Napoleon Hill “Whatever the mind conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

I admit that sometimes your dream and what you believe in may not be the best for you but if you never try, take action to achieve it; you will never know whether it is the best for you or not.  In the end if you never try, you will never know and keep wondering whether your dream is what best for you.  Like Publilius Syrus said, “No one knows what he can do until he tries.”

So if someone comes to you and said that your dream is worthless and they know what best for you, assess their statement, weigh what they said, take the good advises and throw away the rest and move on because in the end it is your life, you are the one who knows what best for you.

Look at history for example Alexandra Graham Bell, Thomas Edison or even Albert Eistein; no one believed them and some may think that they were wasting their time.  However because of their believe in their dreams, their persistence and determination and also the actions that they had taken, they changed the world. 

So believe in your dreams, be what you want to be not what others what you to be; things that will give you energy to move forward and you will be a happy person until the end of your life. 

Logan Pearsall Smith said, “There are two things to aim in life: first, to get what you want and after that to enjoy it.”

I think it is still not too late to wish all of my friends a very happy new year though today is already day 10th of 2012 . 

I miss writing here and miss talking to all my friends, that’s you if you have forgotten that

I have been away from my desk for two months.  Some of you may know that I went to Mekah since October 2011.  Came back earlier December and only now manage to write.  My mistake…  Been in my comfort zone for too long :-( that I forgot that I am a writer and writing gives me energy to look forward to life.

I would like to share with you my experience and stories while I was in Mekah and Madinah but that would be in my next posts.  I promise .  There’s so much that I would like to share, especially my experience that can make us a better person and I hope that by sharing my experience with you, makes me a better person even more.

Today I am not going to talk about Mekah or Madinah.  I want to talk about well, what else… new resolution as now is just the beginning of 2012

Well, you might be saying that this is going to be something boring as everybody is talking about new resolution everytimes new year comes. Yes, I agreed to that and yes everybody is talking about new resolution nowadays.  Actually I did talked about new resolution last year

So without breaking the tradition, I am going to talk about new resolution again…

I believe that our resolution should be renewed; not every early of the year but early of each day.  I hope you don’t misunderstood my words, therefore I am going to say this again; “Resolution should be renewed everyday not every early of the year.”

Why? You might ask.

Well, the way I see it, we should review our resolution at the end of every day i.e. before we go to sleep so that we can see whether what we have done that day aligned with our resolution or not and whether our resolution is really what we want, the thing that is going to make us happy in the end.

By reviewing this everyday we will always know whether we are in the right direction or not and whether we are making the right resolution to move towards our goal. 

It is something like a pilot who is flying the airplane, always checking whether he is in the right direction towards his destination.  If he is diverted from his destination, he will correct his way and fly back to the right direction.  And if he arrive in a wrong destination, he can always turn back and fly towards the right destination.  Provided of course the plane has enough fuel to fly there

Well, you got the picture.

Same with us, if we always check our actions, we will always know whether what we do are align with our resolution and whether our resolution is making us move towards our goal, our destination.  And when suddenly we realize our resolution is a wrong one, we can make an immediate change to achieve our goal and have a happy life.

You see, things that makes us happy are the things that make us move forward.  If we are not happy with what we are doing, we will remain static, be in just the same place or even worst move backward.

I learned this the hard way.  I did something that I thought would bring me closer to my goal but truthfully it did not as I didn’t checked.   And I wasted the whole year doing just that.  In the end I realized that I was not moving forward at all instead moving much further away from my goal and suffered for the whole year not being happy. 

Luckily someone made me realized what I did.  Though it was painful to swallow but it was the truth.  Hey! I am a human being, I make mistakes too.  Like the saying “If you never make mistake, you will never grow.”

So my friends, I hope that I have share something valuable with you today and it will make you a better person today.  If you make the wrong resolution last year, well you still have time to change it.  It is never too late to make the change.  As long as you are breathing, it is not too late no matter how old your are.

If you make a mistake, be sad, cry if you want to but after that review it and make improvement.  Like a good friend of mine said don’t brood over it. 

Remember this; everything happens for a reason, whether the thing that happens is good or bad.  What happens next is much more important; it will depend on how we handle the situation.

Just to share with you, something bad happened to me today, I admit I brood about it at first but in the end I realize in a way it is a good thing.  As it gave me the will to write tonight and realize the right direction to move.  So it is not a bad thing after all

I am signing off with this prayer, “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Hope today has been a great day for you.  Hope that tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and days after that will be a great days for all of you.

That is how we should face our days… with positive attitude.  Because when we are positive everything that comes our way will be positive.  It is the law of attraction, alike attracts alike

If you start your day with hatred in your heart, negative attitude or even negative thinking; your whole day will be negative too.  Believe me… It will.  You will feel that you are a victim and the whole world is against you.

So start your day with a positive feeling.  Smile even if you do not feel you want to and you will make your day and others worthwhile

When you are positive, people who are following you will be positive too. When you are always angry, your followers or your subordinates will in the end do the same too. 

“People follow what they see not what they hear.”

Especially if you are a leader of your organization.  Being positive is much more crucial.

Wait! I can hear you saying that you are not the CEO of your organization.  Well, you don’t have to be a CEO or a manager to become a leader.  A leader can emerge at any level of the organization.  A simple definition of leadership is the ability to obtain followers. 

Therefore even if you are at the bottom level of your organization but you have followers or people who admire you then you are a leader.  And to become a good leader your need to develop good attitude.

It’s true that good attitudes alone may not be the asset that makes us a great leader but these good attitudes will help us reach our full potential.  These will differentiate us from those who have wrong or bad attitudes.

Like what Walt Emerson said “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”

One of the attitudes of a good leader is listening skill.  You need to teach yourself  to listen to people’s dreams, motivations, hopes, strengths and even weaknesses.  When you listen, you need to listen with your heart not only with your ears.  Your body language must shows that you are interested to listen to their stories. With this attitude, people will know that you care and then only they will follow you.

One simple trait in your handwriting that shows that you are a good listener is in the letter “e”.  I am not saying that this is the only trait but as an example I am showing you the simplest.

However you must also remember that other traits or attitudes you have may reduce this trait in you.  For example you may have this trait but you are also a stubborn person which will definitely reduce your good listening attitude.

Therefore the first step to become a good leader is, you must assess yourself, make the necessary changes for the better and people around you will follow to change for the better too.

All through my life, I have been doing things in this sequence. 

Well, let’s not talk to far into my childhood because that might bores you.  Let’s just talk about the things that I did from few years back…

When I first got inspired on writing a book, I just said to myself, “Hey! I want to write a book.  I got the data and information that I think is very valuable and I want to share it with others.”  So I started writing.  At that time, all I could think about was putting my book on the shelf of a bookstore.  Thinking back on that, I should have been thinking “Hey! I want to write a best selling book.”  Anyway, I have no regrets because my first book opens up a lot of new opportunities that I never thought of doing before.

Ok… Back to my story… When I finished writing my book, only then I thought of how to get my book printed and out on the bookshelf.  So I thought of finding a publisher.  It was not an easy thing to do.  It took a lot of determination and persistence from a person who didn’t have a slightest idea about publishing.  I had been rejected by so many publisher that in the end I almost got discourage.  During this time I took things one step at a time.  What I did was, I kept telling myself, “One more publisher today.  If I didn’t get this one, I’ll stop.”  But alhamdulillah, I never stopped. Until finally on on fine morning I got a reply from the publisher.

And that was the beginning of my first book, ”Tulisan Cerminan Personaliti Diri”

It may not be a world best selling book yet but I am very proud of it.  My first attempt I am still learning from this experience and I realise that I could do better.  And I am in the midst of writing a new book much better than this

Like I said earlier, by writing this book, it opens up a lot of new opportunities for me.  Before this I never thought of becoming a coach that shares information with other people through seminars, programs and talks.  I was actually terrified of talking in front of people especially big groups of people

However I learned and still am learning.  And now I am doing things that I never thought I would love.  One of it is sharing knowledge and value add to others through my programs, seminars and talks

Now I just love doing this knowledge sharing events

Though I have to admit I still have stage frights at the beginning of each programs but in the end these are the things that give me energy and drive to move forward.

Finally, I found the reason why to I was put on this earth; to share information and value add to others.

I still have a lot of things to share about Ready, Fire, Aims but I think we will continue that in my next post.

But one thing you have to remember, if you know you are doing the right thing then just do it.  A lot of people know that they are ready but keep aiming to ensure that they get the right target and in the end they never actually fire.  If you never fire you will never know whether your target is right or not and you will never have a chance to correct your aim.

As you all may have notice, I have not written in my blog for almost 6 months… A lot of people kept asking me the reason why?  Whether I am alright? Whether I have changed my blog? Or whether I am not writing anymore.

The truth is, it is none of the above.  What’s really happened was that I just lost my dad in early December 2010.  Before that he had been very ill so I decided to put everything on hold so that I could help my mom and sister took care of him.  It had been the hardest time of our life but we were grateful for it as we were able to be with him in the last moments of his life.

Although he had passed away 3 months ago, I am still not able to talk about him without crying.  Although he had been sick for quite some times and we had long expected for the worst, but when it happened; it was still a shock to us.

There are a lot of things that I will never get a chance to say to my dad or even show to him but I am taking this opportunity to write something about his as a tribute to him and of the happy memories that he left us.

One thing that I learned from my dad is persistency.  When my dad set his mind to do something or to achieve something, he did the best that he could to achieve it.  He would not stop until he got what he wanted even if he had to stay awake all night long.  

But the best thing that I had ever learned and received from my dad was becoming the kind of person I am today…  He taught me to always improved myself and do everything the best that I can and leave everything else to Allah. 

When I was a kid, I always cried when I did not achieved what I wanted or focused on.  When that happened, my dad always said this, “I know that you already work very hard and you have done your very best.  Maybe if you do something different, you will get what you want or you will get what you want when the time is right.  Whatever the situation is, always remember this… Everything happens for a reason and only Allah know what’s best for you.  You may not achieve what you want today but always look back and see what you have become in achieving what you want.  You may not get what you want today but if you are grateful and work better, you will achieve better things that you have never dream of achieving before.”

Thank you dad for all those years and helping me become who I am today.

How many books you read in a day? In a week? In a month? In a year?

Do you remember the book or books that inspire you?

Do you remember the book that start to make you re-think about your purpose in life and change your life forever? 

I still remember mine…

Since I was little I liked to read books.  I used to read mystery books, horror books, romance novels and lots of other books.  But I never really read any inspiring or motivational books.

I never really remember how it began but I will always remember the day I picked up the book that give me the inspiration, re-think about my life, realized my true purpose and change my life forever; a 180 degree change. 

And since then, there are always books that inspire and motivate me to move forward in life. 

Sometimes… When I feel down, discourage and de-motivate; I can just pick a book and there are always inspiring words or advises that encourage and motivate me to move forward and face the challenge.  It is like a coach or a mentor advising me what to do.

Weird isn’t it…  But it is a good weird

You see, when you want to be successful in whatever you do, you need to learn.

Learn from everything.  Learn from your own life experience, other people life experience such even from your parents, read books, attend trainings, find coaches or mentors and even observe everything around you. 

There will always things that can help you become a better person

Just open your mind and always be ready to learn. 

For some people when something bad happened to them, they just shut their eyes and miss the valuable lesson.  But not you because you know that most of the time challenges and failures are the most valuable things that teach you valuable lessons and bring you a step closer towards your dreams.

Remember this, there will always be lessons in everything that happens to you whether it is good or bad.  The important thing is that how you look at these lessons and how you use it.

If you think that life experiences and reading good books are not enough to help you achieve your dreams then find a coach or a mentor.

Coaches and mentors can also be your eyes opener and help you achieve your dreams.

But the most important thing of all, YOU must take the action.

Hope you are doing well. 

It has been a busy month and finally today I have the opportunity to write.

Before I write further, I want to ask you a question.  What is success to you?

Is success means making millions of dollars?

Is success means becoming rich?

Is success means owning multi-millions businesses?

Is success means raising healthy and happy children?

Is success means that you have a successful career?

Or is success means that you are happy with what you are doing and are happy with your life?

In my opinion different people would have different opinion about success.  Some people would consider themselves as successful when they earn millions of dollars or have their own successful businesses.  Some people would consider themselves as successful when their children are happy and successful themselves while others consider themselves as successful when they are able to help as many people as they can.

So you see… Different people have different definition on success and there is no right and wrong answers.

What’s may seems successful to me, may not seem successful to you and vice versa.

However whatever definition and opinion you have about success, one thing that we have in common is that when you and I want to achieve whatever success we want; we need to work for it.

We need to have determination, persistance, believe in ourselves and overcome any challenges and obstacles until we achieve the success that we have been dreaming about.  We need to be focus and not let our eyes off our goals until the day we successfully achieve it.

Therefore no matter whats success means to you, you have to do all you can to achieve that success.

Like what Vince Lombardi said, “The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.”

Recently I had the opportunity to attend a seminar in Singapore where I met people from all over the world and most of them are people from all around Asia. 

My new friends from all over the world

These people are successful in their own ways.  Some of them are successful parents, directors, managers, trainers, sales persons, husbands and even wifes.  All of them are working their very best in the things that they believe in and are good at what they are doing.

All of them have a number of things in common:

1.  Believe in themselves.

2. Determination.

3. Persistence.

4. Doing the best that they can.

5. Good heart.

And they all come from different part of this world.

So you see, you can be anywhere in this world but when you want to be successful, you will need to have the same attitude as anyone in any part of the world that already are successful.

How are you today?  Hope you are doing fine and happy.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to work by the seaside – just a few feet away from where I was sitting though I didn’t have the opportunity to swim due to chemical bla…bla..bla… but I managed to appreciate the beauty of God creation.

I was sitting directly in front of a window that looked out to the open sea.  It was one of a spectacular view sought of like watching the blue ocean from a plasma tv  

Unfortunately I didn’t bring my camera or else you would be able to view the same spectacular view that I saw today instead of just listening to my description and try to imagine it in you head.

The sea was beautifully blue and green and everything was so calm.  There was a breeze of wind and the sky was perfectly blue.

That was when I started thinking about why some people put-off starting their own business whether it is online or offline though deep down in their heart they want their own business.  The most important thing that makes them give-up even before they start.

Selecting the right niche…

Don’t give me that look :-0

You know that is one of the reason why you got stuck isn’t it?

It may seems simple but truthfully it can be difficult. 

Selecting the right niche is as important as planning your business when you want to start your business.

When you start thinking of building your own business, you will also start to think about what you should sell? 

For some people this is an easy part because they already know what they want but for some it is not as easy.

For those who feel that it is not as easy, here are some guidelines for you:

1.  Select something that you are very interested and passionate about.  Why???

Because when you are going into a business, this is not for one or todays.  It is going to be for a very long time; maybe your lifetime.  So when you are really interested and passionate about it, you will stand by it in no matter what the circumstances.

Hey! It is not going to always be easy

For example you are very interested and passionate about baking cakes.  So even when in the beginning nobody is buying your cakes, you are still interested and passionate about it.  You will not give-up or discourage in the process of achieving your dreams.

2.  Select ‘The Niche’

It may not be enough to select just the niche that you are interested and passionate about but also things that people want at the right time. 

For example you are interested and passionate about baking biscuits but at that time nobody is interested about biscuits.  So my suggestion is to hold on to that thought and find something else to sell first. At the same time search the market to find out where and when people will be interested i.e. during specific occasioon etc.

Like I said earlier, if you are interested and passionate about your product you will  find a way to make it work in no matter what circumstances and conditions.

How are you?  Hope you are doing well

As for me, I am doing great though a bit exhausted :-0

I will be travelling again next week and this time it will be for a whole (until my birthday, that is )

For those who had been writing to me, I apologize for taking some times to reply your emails.  To those that have not receive my replies, I hope that you will be patient.  I am a bit slow in replying but I will reply, that’s my promise.  Things are a bit hectic around here especially now as I am involve in a commercial job and everything   I guess I have to find a mastermind soon…

Anyway this is not what I want to talk about today.

As promise, today I want to talk about the number two key to successes and riches.

It is Sound Physical Health.

I could hear some of you saying, what!!!  Physical Health???

Does she knows what she is talking about?

To answer that question, yes I do…

Think of it this way, if you have all the riches in this world; all the gold and diamonds and money but you are always sick and have to stay in bed all day and night, would all the riches mean anything to you.  Ok, you might say that you have all the money so you can pay for the best doctor to cure you.  However what if this best doctor does not know what’s wrong with you.  This doctor’s solution is to cut you to see what is wrong inside of you.  Would you want to do that?  Do you want to be reach with scars all over your body?

I don’t think so…

So as you are working towards your successes and riches, you must also work to take care of you health. 

Eat healthy and do exercise.  Take great care of your body.  You only have one body…  No money in this world would be able to make another body for you.

One way to stay healthy is to eat moderately.  Researches had shown that unhealthiness starts from the stomach.  So eat whatever you body needs instead of eating everything your heart desire…

There’s also a saying that say, “Eat when you are hungry and stop before you are full.” 

However most of us keep on eating even after we are full

So take great care of your body so that you are healthy and able to enjoy the successes and reaches that you achieve.

Ok… With that I am going to stop here.

It had been a hectic weeks for me and I had been running around from one place to another these past few weeks :-0

I believe these will continue for the next few months…  Well, that’s my news

How about you? How is your new year resolution?  Your goals?  Have you started to take actions?  I hope you have.  It is already March, meaning that we are already three months into year 2010.  So if you have not took any actions yet, well now is the time to do it. 

Do not wait any longer!  There’s only 9 and 1/2 months left to complete your 2010 resolution.  Come on!  Get up and start doing something.

Today I want to talk about the key to successes and riches.  Why successful and rich people become successful and rich?  What are the things that these people do that make them successful and rich.

1. A positive mental attitude

Have you ever heard a saying, “Watch your thought, they will become the words you say.  Watch your words, they will become the actions you take.” 

Well, I don’t exactly remember the exact words but more or less these are what the saying means.

Everything that you want to do or not do, everything that you want say or not say begins from your mind. 

When you want to go somewhere for example to the mall or meet somebody, you must have think about it first.
“Oh! I want to buy some new clothes so I have to go to the mall.” Or “I need help so I need to see this and this person.”

Same goes with achieving success.  You must have in your mind about the success you are going to achieve.  You must have the believe of achieving your goals and dreams.  You know that you are going to achieve your goals and dreams then only you will take the actions and make them happen.

If you don’t believe that you are going to successfully achieve your goals or your dreams, would you make any effort and taking actions to achieve them?  I don’t think so…

You may try to do something once but when it doesn’t happen as what you expected, you will stop and let your dream or goal dies.

So from now on start to have positive mental attitude.  If you want to achieve something, start to believe and tell yourself you can achieve it; it may not take one two days but in the end you will achieve your dream.

I also know that it will not be easy to always have positive thoughts.  One way or another negative thoughts will try to creep in.  So from now on if you start having negative thoughts of now able to achieve your goals or just any negative thoughts, say to yourself, “I cancel this negative thought.”  And start smiling (or even force yourself to smile) and say, “I am a positive person. Today is the best day of my life and I am going to achieve my goals.”

Like Napoleon Hill said, “Whatever the mind conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
